Videos of transformers exploding have been popping up as Hurricane Milton moves through Florida.

There have been significant power outages along Florida's west coast. As of 12:25 a.m. Thursday, there were over 290,000 customers without power in Southwest Florida's counties.

The video posted above was submitted to us by Mark Millerline. It captures the moment a transformer exploded in Cape Coral off of Santa Barbara by Cape Parkway.

NBC2 crews reported seeing multiple transformers explode in the area and light up the night sky.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office posted a video showing multiple transformers exploding simultaneously as deputies were on patrol.
