RES bags St Brieuc substation maintenance gig
Renewables outfit will carry out the preventive and corrective actions on the offshore equipment and structure
RES has signed its first offshore maintenance contract in France with Ailes Marines for the maintenance and upkeep of the offshore substation for the 496MW St Brieuc offshore wind farm.
RES will carry out the preventive and corrective maintenance on the equipment and structure of the offshore substation.
This project allows RES to deploy its experience in offshore maintenance in France (more than 2.5GW under maintenance contract in the UK).
Over the past couple of years, RES and Valemo have been identifying local contractors with the support of Bretagne Ocean Power, in order to include local companies servicing offshore wind.
Martin Lemaistre, managing director, RES France, said: "It's an honour to be supporting Ailes Marines and the emerging offshore market in France.
"The signing of this contract marks the first step in the deployment of RES' offshore activities in France."
Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm covers 75 sq km and features 62 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD wind turbines.
